Development and training

At ProCredit Bank we value highly motivated employees who share a long-term commitment to the goals and objectives of the bank. We believe that professional development involves not only vertical, but also horizontal moves, allowing our employees to practise their skills and knowledge in a variety of different positions.

We offer our new employees not just basic professional training, but also a broad range of advanced training measures. Broadly speaking, activities to support our employees’ professional development are carried out at three levels:

  • Local level

These activities comprise all courses and other training measures that are organised by the bank for both new recruits and existing employees. The training programmes are designed to meet the needs of staff in all areas. The specific courses and activities in which individual employees take part are selected based on their positions and the nature of their duties as well as their previous work experience. Training courses are led by upper management and by graduates of the international ProCredit Academies. We support our employees by organising English courses at our local training centre, with an opportunity for further intensive improvement at the ProCredit Language Centres in Macedonia and Germany.

We believe that our employees should be numerate and be able to handle mathematical operations well. In accordance with the training policy established for the ProCredit group, we have introduced courses in accounting and basic financial mathematics. The aim of these courses is to ensure that our staff improve their ability to think logically and analytically.

  • Regional level

Activities at this level focus primarily on employees in middle management, and they include the professional development programmes offered by the ProCredit Regional Academy in Macedonia, as well as training provided at various regional seminars and workshops. In addition to these, English courses are organised to prepare staff for attending the international ProCredit Academy as well as for staff working in various areas of the bank, who in the course of performing their functions require a common language to communicate with colleagues throughout the ProCredit group.

  • Group level

The ProCredit Academy in Germany conducts a professional development programme for middle and senior management staff.

This facility offers specific training programmes over periods of three years on a part-time basis, aiming to enhance leadership and management skills at all levels. The programmes which are conducted at the academies are an essential part of the training offered to our staff. They ensure both that relevant knowledge and important skills are acquired, and that participants are able to benefit from interacting with other staff from the diverse cultures of the 21 countries where ProCredit operates.

To us, investing in our staff is more than a means of teaching specialised skills and knowledge. Rather, we strive to promote a culture of open communication and to develop a management style that allows us to maintain our ethical approach to doing business.

"After graduating from the ULIM, I was first hired as a Loan Officer (a position which now corresponds to that of Business Client Adviser). Then, having passed through a thorough selection process, I realised that I had joined a friendly, hard-working and young team. I understood I had a unique opportunity to widen both my professional and my life experience. Numerous seminars and training courses organised by ProCredit Bank helped me to improve my practical skills, to acquire new knowledge in the banking field and to apply it in my work, as well as to achieve good results and grow professionally.”

Oleg Dovganiuc, Senior Small Credit Risk Analyst

"I joined the ProCredit team in May 2005. Initially, I held the position of Cashier, but hard work and achieving good results helped me to develop professionally. As a result, I was transferred to a position in the Credit Department (now known as the Business Clients Division), then I moved to the Training Department and later to the Front Office Operations Department. Afterwards I continued to work as a Private Clients Co-ordinator in the branch nr.1 Chisinau-Centru. Now I work as a Senior Banking Services Expert in the service point nr.1. At every stage of my career with ProCredit Bank, I have worked with qualified colleagues and have been able to learn a lot from their experience. They supported my ambition for continuous professional development, based on my own performance and achievements.”
